First post ever…
Welcome to JP lifehacks!
This brand new website aims to provide visitors with practical information for navigating life as a foreigner in Japan.
The contents will be focused on language learning approaches, guides to life for residents and tips for travellers and visitors. As a new project, many of the details are a work in progress and will likely evolve over time until a clear site identity forms.
Residents or soon-to-be residents of Japan may find insights into navigating issues from how to pay your bills or apply for a credit card to updating your driver’s license or visa.
Travellers may find information that will help them survive during their travels to this fine country. Perhaps you’re intimated by the thought of ordering food in a restaurant or want to visit an onsen (hot springs) and need the lowdown on the rules and appropriate behavior.
Another particular focus which is likely to remain, is that of approaches to language learning in general and the Japanese language in particular; as this is a significant area of interest for us and many long-term foreign residents of Japan. Rather than attempting to describe a one-size-fits-all approach, we will try to define appropriate strategies for mastering Japanese whether you’re aiming for complete mastery or basic conversational fluency.
We appreciate your support and suggestions so please feel free to comment on the posts and share your experiences, ask questions or make suggestions for new content.
